当前高等院校思想政治工作面临着极为复杂的局面，出现了许多新情况、新问题，也暴露出许多我们思想政治工作中存在的问题，加强高校的思想政治工作刻不容缓。最近，江泽民同志作了《关于教育问题的谈话》，《谈话》包含了极为丰富的教育思想，其中加强思想政治教育是其重要的组成部分，是新时期高校思想政治工作的根本指导思想。加强高校思想政治工作，要端正教育方向，明确教育思想，灌输马克思主义理论，与各种错误思潮作坚决的斗争。同时还要加强思想政治教育的学科建设，注意研究新情况，解决新问题。

Presently the ideological and political work in colleges and universities faces perplexed situation. The problems emerge in an endless stream. The problems in our ideological and political work are also exposed. It admits no delay to strengthen the ideological and political work. Recently, comrade Jiang Zemin made<<Talk, on education problem>><<Talks>>contains profound thoughts on education, in which the strengthen of ideological and political work is an important ingredient and also the basic guiding ideology for the ideological and political work in colleges and universities during the new period. For the strengthen of the ideological and political work in colleges and universities, it's necessary to strenghten people's educational orientation, make definite the educational thought and instil Marxism theory into- people's mind and struggle against all kinds of mistaken trend of thought. At the same time we should also strengthen the subject construction of the ideological and political work in colleges and universities, pay close attention to the study of the new situation and solve the new problem.
