太平天国战后 ,江南地区的许多地方出现人口的“真空”、“半真空”状态 ,从而引发了战后大规模的移民浪潮。河南移民的迁移活动从战后初期一直持续到民国初年 ,大量河南移民的迁入 ,对江南地区经济、文化和风俗习尚各个层面都产生重要影响。

After the War of Taiping Revolution, many areas in Jiangnan became vacant or almost vacant. This led to the large scale tide of immigration. The immigration movement of Henan immigrants lasted from the end of the War to the early 1911 and made great impact on the economy, culture and customs of the Jiangnan areas.
