CHARACTERISTICS OF KARST DEVELOPMENT IN QUATERNARY MARL AND ITS WATER—SUPPLY SIGNIFICANCE

摘要 通过泥灰岩形成环境的分析,认为它属第四纪下更新世山前坡麓面状弱水流作用环境下形成。其岩溶地下水运移模式,根据其地质构造环境的差异及人类活动的影响,可划分为三种,其中第Ⅲ种模式水源地的水资源量较大。 The distribution of Quaternary marl is wide in North China,abundant groundwater resources in it often act as water-supply sources in some cities and enterprises. The Quaternary marl often develops near the distribution area of carbonate rocks of Paleozoic era,with the same horizon and depositional setting of grey-green or variegated and calcareous clays. Karst development in marl is affected not only by the structural condition and characteristics of water cycle but also by the texture and structure of underlying rocks and their hydrogeological condition. The caves developed in marl can be classified into two types i. e. primary and secondary caves. The so-called 'primary caves' (false caves ) are often in the form of insulated and closed, the water content of them is small without important water-supply significance. The secondary caves were formed by the structure and groundwater action after the formation of marl,with a good void continuity and water content favourable in water-supply. Based on the differences of geo-structural setting and influence of human activities,the migration of karst water in marl can be divided into three patterns,the water-source base of pattern Ⅲ is rich in water resource relatively.
