本文以生成语法关于语言能产力的理论为基础 ,对构词现象做了量和质的描述、解释和分析 ,试图回答“何为构词力 ?”这一有争议的问题。数量描写引用和比较了Aronoff和Baayen的计算公式 ,旨在说明 ,因为构词的共时性 ,构词模式构词力的强弱不能以直觉和直观的方法去衡量。构词力的质量分析在比较和区别构词和造词的基础上进行 ,对构词的主要本质特征作出尝试性的探讨 ,旨在从另一个视角对构词力作进一步的解释。

Based on the theory of language productivity in terms of generative grammar, this article attempts to answer the question “what is morphological productivity?' It describes, interprets and analyses the phenomenon of word production both quantitatively and qualitatively Quantitative description quotes and compares two Formulas given by Aronoff and Baayen respectively to prove that measurement of morphological productivity based on intuition and direct observation is untenable, for word production is synchronic in nature The qualitative analysis tentatively generalizes the main features of word production as distinguished from those of word creation for the purpose of further explaining morphological productivity from a different perspective
