“阅读策略”中的我们与他者及其在教学中的意义

Us and Them in“ reading strategies” and their implications in ELT

话语中“我们”和“他者”的区分在英语教学领域具体化为本族语者和把英语作为外语的学习者之间的潜在区分，在教材编写中，这一区分往往表现为对英语学习者的定型看法以及对他们的特征的忽略。本文运用读者理论，通过对一本阅读教材中“阅读策略”单元的话语分析，指出教材编写者参与建构了一个处于文化劣势的隐性的“他者”，并探讨冲出“我们”型话语为“他者”塑造的固定模式在英语教学中的意义所在。

abstrac The us and them distinction in the field of ELT takes the form of native speakers and learners of English. This paper makes a sample analysis of the discourse of a unit in a reading textbook, pointing out that the textbook compilers can help reconstruct an implicit them which are culturally inferior. Also discussed are implications of transcending the stereotype of learners of English as created by the us type discourse.
