摘要
本文在简述了需求分析的概念、涵义、发展和使用范围的基础上,提出了在外语教学过程中如何利用需求分析来了解和改进教学,及需求分析的步骤和应该注意的一些问题,并探讨了需求分析的几种主要模式以及如何结合定性和定量的研究方法来采集需求分析的数据.
This article discusses the definition and development of needs analysis and its application in TEFL . It points out how we can use needs analysis to identify some problems in the instruction and students' learning and to improve the teaching and learning in the process of TEFL. The article introduces the main models of needs analysis and the methods of data collection in carrying out needs analysis. Finally it gives some critical evaluation of some disadvantages of the early types of needs analysis and the improvements on the present types. The article also discusses how needs analysis might be used in China's TEFL.
