摘要
科技英语作为一种专业英语具有一些不同于普通英语的特征。这些特征曾经被认为是由其语场决定的 ,但是实际上语旨对科技英语的语域特征也有很大的影响。本文从语法隐喻和情态形式两个方面探讨了语旨对语域的影响。提出科技语篇的作者也必须根据不同的语旨对其文章的语域做出调整 ,否则就会影响读者对文章的接受。
Scientific discourses used to be regarded as a kind of discourses whose grammatical characteristics are mainly determined by the field of discourse. Yet tenor also has great bearing on its register. In this article, I want to explore the influence of tenor upon register of scientific discourses form the aspects of grammatical metaphor and modal form and prove that when a scientist writes an article, he must have his intended readers in mind, and adapt the register of his article to different tenor, otherwise the articles will fail to serve their purposes.
