《金瓶梅词话》对人物服饰的描写不下于百处,充分展示了明代端庄、宏美的服饰风貌。小说对女子服饰的描写尤其细致详尽,丰富多彩的头饰、面饰、佩饰、服装构成了一道绚丽的服饰风景线。而男子服饰相对简单一些,但从小说对形形色色人物所穿戴的巾帽、服装、束带、靴履的描述中也能领略他们的服饰风貌。
