Effect of Brush Polishing on the Properties of Coated Paper and Paperboard

刷光整饰可以改变涂布纸和纸板的外观和物理性能,明显提高表面光泽度,不增加紧度,有利于低定量纸的不透明度和纸板的挺度。

Effect of brush polishing conditions such as brushing speed ratio (ratio of brusher speed to web speed), brushing times and theuse of combining brushing and calendering on the properties of coated paper and board was studied in laboratory. The results indicate that the gloss increases significantly as brushing speed ratio increases, the polished gloss can be varing from 48. 8% to 79. 2% depending on the coating colour foumulation, it thus indicates that the coating color formulation is the key factor for the gloss of coated paper and board. The study results also show that brush polishing can improve surface strength and smoothness of the products, but not affect apparent density. However the brightness and ink absorption will be slightly decreased after brush polishing.
