Based on historical materials, the author pointedout that the bronze figure of acupuncture now exhi-bited in China Historical Museum was the productmade in Qing Dynasty. At the 1st year under thereign title of Tiansheng in Song Dynasty,Wang Wei-yi,the then medical officer, was taking charge ofcasting 2 bronze figures for the use of acupunctureon the imperial edict. At the 8th year under the re-ign title of Zhengtong in Ming Dynasty,Yingzong, the then emperor, ordered to recast a new bronzefigure by imitating the one casted in Tiansheng's re-ign of Song Dynasty.During the War of Gengzi inGuangxu's reign of late Qing Dynasty, the Zheng-tong bronze figure was robbed off by the Russian im-perial troops. To amend this loss,at the 30th yearof Guangxu's reign, the imperial medical administra-tion recasted a new bronze figure,an imitation ofZhengtong bronze figure. It used to be disposed inTongshen(bronze god)Palace, was transfered toState History Museum of Imperial Palace in 1925,ha-nded over to Nanjing Museum in 1936,and in 1958it was moved to China Historical Museum in Beijinguntil now.
