A simple method for synthesis of (±)-1,1′-bi-2-naphthylamine andits important intermediate 2,2′-azonaphthalene starting from β-naphthylamine orβ-naphthol was reported.The effect of factors on the yield was studied.The sui-table reaction conditions were given.
