The Determination of Optical Parameters of Gemstone with Jeweler's Refractomter

宝石的光学性质是鉴定宝石的重要依据。在鉴定中,除了要知道宝石的最大折射率、最小折射率和双折率外,还要知道宝石是一轴晶或二轴晶,正光符或负光符。应用珠宝折射仪能够在宝石的任一抛光平面上测量出宝石的这些性质。不过要达到这一目的,仅仅遵循正确的操作步骤是不够的。

Seven models of refract index is determined with jeweler's refractometer. These models can be interpreted with the index - face of crystal optics. Based on the index ?face, the methods have been discussed in this paper, with them the main optical parameters of gemstone ?max. RI. ,min. RI and optical character can be determined on any polished facet of stone.
