中国古代鸟类学发展的探讨

ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ORNITHOLOGY IN ANCIENT CHINA

我国古代鸟类学的发展史可分为两期:(一)前期——汉朝以前;(二)后期——汉末至明朝。笔者对这两期中涉及鸟类的古文献,进行了搜集、整理和考究,去伪存真,宣扬其精华,纠正其明显错处。在前期中,《尔雅》是一部较为可靠的训诂学书,而在后期当推《本草纲目》和《三才图会》为较有贡献的古典著作。

The developmental history of ornithology in ancient China may be divided into two periods: (1) The pre-Han period, (2) the hind period-from the end of the Han dynasty to the Ming dynasty. In both periods, the author has sorted out and examined classical literature related to birds with the purpose of commending the essence and redressing some of the ohvious errors. In the pre-Han period, 'Er Ya' is of much use in giving explanations or critical interpretations of ancient texts, while in the hind period, 'Ben Cao Gang Mu' and 'San Cai Tu Hui' are Considcred as having reached a high level of scho(?)arstic attainment in the Chinese ancient ornithologv.
