作者依据大量的实验认为,经络实质的核心是'气血之道路'。其中血之道路指血管;气之道路指血管壁上分布的循环调节系统,即肾上腺素能神经和胆碱能神经。这恰与'气为血之帅,血为气之母'相吻合。人体中血管、神经的分布与经络的分布同样,具有网络性;针刺效应的产生,经络各种功能的完成,均是在神经的作用下实现的。这就证实了经络与血管、神经是密不可分的。

Based on a number of experimental studies theauthor holds that the core of the essence of meridi-ans is the pathway of Qi and blood.The bloodpathway means blood vessels,and the Qi pathway isthe system regulating circulation,i.e.the adrenergicand lcholinergic fibers.This opinion is in accordancewith the statement that 'Qi is the commander ofblood,and blood is the mother of Qi'.Likemeridians,blood vessels and nerves are distributedin the way of network.Acupuncture effects and var-ious meridian functions are all fulfiled by the actionof nerves.These are the evidence showing close rele-vance of meridians to hlood vessels and nerves.
