桃仁对经体外细胞培养中的纤维母细胞生长具有抑制作用,将其用于实验性小梁切除术的家兔动物模型上。发现它具有抑制炎症细胞及纤维母细胞增生的作用;局部应用无副反应。可能是一种防止抗青光眼滤过性手术后过度疤痕形成,促进功能性滤过泡形成的安全而有效的药物。

Based on the finding that extractum semen persicae (ESP) could inhibit the fibroblasts growth in the culture medium. ESP was used locally in the animal model of experimental trabeculectomy. It was proved once again that ESP had the potential of inhibiting inflammatory cells reaction and fibroblastio proliferation with no side effects.We postulated that ESP may be a promising and effective agent in prevent from excessive scarring and promotion of filtering bulb formation following filtering operation.
