Selection of the Layout of the Head—race Conduit and the Power House of the Tianhu Hydropower Station

天湖水电站一期工程建成发电之际,曾将各级领导、专家、建设单位职工的有关天湖水电站题词和文艺作品50余篇,编成《天湖水电站咏诵集》付梓,以下数则乃拾遗之作也。

The first—stage project of the Tianhu hydropower station is planned toinstall two units of generator with a capacity of 30 MW, a designed head of 1074 m and a discharge flow of 3.42 m^3/s. The layout of the station's head—race conduit and power house is an important part of the project. In the preliminary design, three scheme are drawn out for selection, they are:①pressure shaft with underground power house; ②penstoek with ground power house; ③pressure shaft with ground power house; and the first one is recommended in the design paper. While after careful examination and argumentation, we adopt the third scheme which is proved by practice to be the adequate one meeting the expected goal.
