气质是人的稳定的心理特性之一,具有一定的遗传倾向。新生儿在生后不久就在气质上表现出明显的个体差异。这种差异是通过不同的行为反应表现出来的。新生儿气质可分为温和、兴奋、中间三种类型,并可用《新生儿行为评估量表》的方法作为新生儿气质分类的有效工具之一,使我们更容易的了解新生婴儿的个性特征,以给予家长相应的育儿指导。
