Effect of Word and Figure Identification on Visual Choice Reaction Time

摘要 根据左右半球功能分工理论和运动员的经验,在运动竞赛的应激情况中,无语言参与的战术决策和战术行动完全可以适应比赛在速度方面的要求。否则,运动员将寻求语言帮助,而这一点与观察事实不符。由此假设:人对语言刺激的反应不快于对图形刺激的反应。11名大学生参加一项实验室实验,结果支持了研究假设:图形反应时与字词反应时以及图形反应错误百分数与字词反应错误百分数均无可靠差异。提出了一个直接型认知加工过程模式以解释本实验结果。 According to the theory of function allocation of two ceredral hemispheres and the athletes' expe riences, non- language-involved tactic decision and tactic action can meet the need of speed in competition in acute stress situation. Otherwise, athletes would seek help from their language,which is not in accordence with the observed fact. A hypothesis was put forward accordingly: reaction to word stimuli is not faster than reaction to figure stimuli. Eleven university students participated in an experiment. The result showedthat there was no significant differences between reaction time of word and reaction time of figure and between re action error percentage of word and reaction error percentage of figure, which supported the hypothesis. A di rect cognitive processing model was proposed to explain the results.
