研究发现珙桐除具２苞片外，还有３个和４个苞片的珙桐，这可能比其已被公认的变种──光叶珙桐更具有分类和研究价值。栽植在郑州的珙桐于１９９３年春已开花，说明珙桐可以人工栽培，并可广泛应用于园林绿化和造林事业中。

The Chinese dovetree(Davidia involucrata Baill.)is a plant species of monomophic genera belonging to Myssaceae(Davidiaceae)family,which is one of endemic plant family in China.The dovetree originates from anciency,belongs to relict of paleotropy flora in Tertiary period.It was listed as protected plant of the first class in China,There are two large white bracts under its brown red head inflorescence,looking like a white dove. In bloom,it looks as if a flock of doves perch on the branches of the tree,so it is called Chinese dovetree,Except the two bracts,we have found three and four bracts dovetree which are more inportant for the dovetree classification and scientific research.Dovetree was introduced into our research station in Zhengzhou city and it blooms normally.So a conclusion could be induced that dovetree can be transplanted northward and perhaps it may become a garden and sylviculture species in China。
