The kinetics of growth of a-cristobalite spherulites and β-wollastonite dehtrites on the surface of a glass with CaO/SiO_2=1/2 containing 6mol%Al_2O_3 were studied with optical and transmission electron microscopy. It was concluded that:(1) the crystals growth rates are constant with time;(2)the expcrimental values of the growth rates are in good agreement with ln[U/(△T) ̄2]=lnK-Q/T,where K,Q are contant;and(3)there is no obvious effeot of phase separation on the growth kinetics of both crystals,which was explained that the size of phase separation is much less than that of the distortions of microstructure involved in growing crystals.
