沸石是一种优良吸附剂。其特性对于控制环境污染极为重要,一些天然和合成分子筛材料已成功地用于除去烟道气SO_2和NO_x,净化空气,清除水面油污,生产富氧空气,污水处理以及提高利用垃圾产生的甲烷气体的纯度。

Zeolite is a superior adsorbent. Its characteristics are quite useful for the pollution-control. Certain natural and synthetic zeolite molecular sieves have been successfully employed to remove SO2 and NOx from stackgas,clean air,capture oil-spill ,produce oxygen-enriched air for wastewater treatment, and purify methane gas generated from solid wastes.
