本文引入小格局分析方法一种毗连法，对英国北威尔士山地草甸中的几个主要种的小格局进行了分析，结果描述了小格局中的种间关系、格局规模等，生态意义明确。这些生态关系是不能用通常的格局分析方法研究的。

Pattern analysis is important in the study of plant community structure,Much attention has been paidto both analyses. of middlescale and large-scale patterns rather than that of small-scale pattern sin gly. Consequently, there are few techniques for considering questions in this respect of small-scale analysis.Upto the present,the species juxtaposition,a method for small-scale pattern analysis,is introduced in the pa-per. It is suitable for pattern analyzing case whenever the parameters in lengths estimated just within a fewcentimeters.This method was ever employed in the study of small-scale patterns of plant species mainlygrown in mountainous grassland in North Wales,United Klngdom. The interspecific relations,pattern scalesand some ecological relationships in the grassfand research work are clearly illustrated by such analysesfore mentioned in the paper.
