In this paper, a new type of synthetic surge tank is studied, and its superiorty to others is analysed. A computer programme is made to calculate thesurge of this kind of surge tank, the calculating coefficient is definited. Amethod of how to calculate the inertia of water head in the riser is studied aswell. If the main tank and riser are separate, this computer programme is especially suitable. For the other type of surge tank, if only you have a littlechange, this programme can also be used.
