The influence of Ce on the mechanical and wear resisting properties of ZA27 alloy are stud-ied under condition of directional solidification.The results indicate that if the melt is modified withCe,the ductility and wearability of ZA27 alloy can be improved on。When ZA27 contains a smallamount of iron and then is treated with Ce,the better wear resistance can be obtained without any sub-stantial losses of other mechanical properties。
