V. I. Istratescu introduced the concepts of complex uniformly convex Banach spaces and complex uniformly smooth Banach spaces. In this note we show that complex uniformly convexity is equivalent to uniformly convexity and complex uniformly smoothness is equivalent to uniformly smoothness.
