This article describes the principle of operation,peculiarity of its construction,and the keys of design of the self-priming mixed flow pumps.The self-priming is realized bysetting a self-priming device composed of S-formed cover and liquidring weel in front of pumpimpeller. By means of this practice all single-stage and single-suction vane pumps with frontinlets can be modified into self-priming pumps without damaging their original principal per-formances.
