Using the method of finite time thermodynamics, this paper obtained the optimal region and generalized refrigeration rate and pumping heat rate varsus performance coefficient characteristics of thermoelectric refrigerators and heat pumps with the help of two characteristic parameters. The results represent the characteristics of real irreversible two-heat source refrigerators and heat pumps with the irreversibilities of heat leak, friction and heat resistance qualitatively.
