A computer model for automobile air conditioner is presented. The model is intended for use in improvement design as well as in simulation of the performance of existing systems. It includes the compressor equations, the heat exchanger equations based on a distribution parameter, the expansive valve equations and tile connecting line and the liquid height controlling equations. The performance of the system using CFC-12 and HFC-134a is computed respectively, and is compared with each other.
