Linear surface gravity waves on a semi-finite incompressible Voigt fluid arc studied in this papet. With a dimcnslonless viscoclastic number e and a dimensionless wave number being introduced, a dimensionless dispersion equation is derived by solving the boundary-value problem. Two critical valetes of are found, A = 0. 607 and B= 2. 380. The effects of on the dispersion relation arc discussed.
