1986年1月美国挑战者号航天飞机遇难以后,西欧一些国家为了解决空间微重力实验的燃眉之急,增加欧洲空间站的应急救生能力以及发展西欧独立的载人航天,开始着手研制弹道式航天器——返回式卫星和载人飞船。文章简要介绍了西欧目前正在进行中的几项弹道式航天器研制计划及其进展情况。
After the space shuttle Challenger's crash, the West Europe felt the need of its ownballistic space vehicles, which include recoverable capsules and manned spacecraft, to conduct space micro gravity experiments and emergency escape mission. Here gives a description of some ballistic space vehicle programs in West Europe, placing emphasis on recoverable capsules.
