A Simple Block Coding Method Based on Vector Quantization

摘要 通过对矢量量化优缺点的分析,提出了一种简单的基于矢量量化的方块编码方案,首先经过预实验确定方块分割方法,然后抽取各方块的均值进行标量量化,再对方块中剩余的值进行矢量量化,实验表明此方案的效果很好,而且它的算法简单,易于硬件实现。 A simple block coding method based on vector quantization is proposed.Optimal blocksegmentation is chosen by tests and by the spatial direction of the correlation in the neighbor-ing pixels.The averaging of each block is then extracted and scalarly quantized with theresidual block signal vectorially quantized.Experimental results show that the method issimple in computation and can be realized easily by hardware。
