摘要
为提高磁盘阵列的可靠性提出采用扩展海明码构造阵列存储数据,形成一种高可靠磁盘阵列──RAID7.充分利用磁盘的ECC检错指示和扩展海明码的纠1检2能力实现RAID7的容错功能。
In recent years,the performance of processors has continuously and rapidly been im-proving.On the other hand,the processing capability of a computer system has been increasing rapidly owing to the adoption of the multiprocessor.However,the performance of I/Ostorage systems has not been able to keep pace with such progress and many applications arenow limited by the speed of the storages rather than by the capability of the CPU. The bot-tleneck is going to be broken through by a storage system with an array of multiple disks ofa small diameter. This paper presents a new and reliable disk array of high reliability,theRedundant Array of Inexpensive Disks level seven(RAID7),in which the data storing unitwith the extended Hamming code is used.
