提出了将传统的关系数据库管理系统转换成主动数据库管理系统的设计思想．构造了表达主动规则的基于ＳＱＬ的扩展语言，给出一种统一存储和管理规则的方法。

ctive database is a new field of development of database technology.This paper presents the design principles of transforming conventional relational database management systems into active database managemerit systems. The SQL-based extended language for de-scribing active rules has great capability of representation and good adaptability.The highperformance of the active rule system is ensured by adopting form method for active rulestorage management.A framework for implementing the active database is discussed,inwhich a monitoring system and a rule executing inechanism are introduced and integratedwith a conventional database menagement system to construct an active database menage-ment system.
