摘要
引入时间冗余度对冗余磁盘阵列(RAID)并行存储系统的速度特性给予直观描述,分析讨论为提高可靠性而付出的冗余时间开销程度,探索和建立一种RAID评价新方法。这种方法以解析表达式给出时间冗余度与阵列结构特性参数间的关系,一方面可用作估计系统的带宽、比较不同系统的速度特性;另一方面可用以指导系统的优化设计。
The redundant structure has been used to improve the system reliability of disk arrays.But this is at the expense of the performance of multiple disk systems .Thsi paper proposes the use of time redundancy as the main index for the evaluation of the speed characteristics ofRAID and discusses the redundant overhead time required for the improvement of reliability.Anew method of evaluation for RAID5 has been developed and it is shown by analysis andcalculation that a RAID constructed with 5 disks will give a time redundancy of 5.89%dueto fault-tolerance,proving the effectiveness of such a disk array.
