Mssbarer spectra of α-Fe_2O_3 Microcrystais before and after adsorbing oleic acid were measured at room temperature and fitted by computer The results show that the area fraction of the surface iron ions. It is inferred that the surface layer of the α-Fe_2O_3 microcrystals of which Mssbauer properties differ from those of the bulk phase is about 20 thick . After adsorbing oleic acid、the surface thickness becomes thinner .this shows that the influence of the adsorbed molecules on α-Fe_2O_3 reaches a certain depth inside the microcrystals.
