The kinetics of bioconcentration and elimination of -labelled pentachlo- rophenol(-PCP)were investigated in Daphnia magna HB over a period of 48 hr.at water temperature of 20°And 14°.The D.magna was exposed to a dose of 0.03 mg/L water solution.-PCP content was analyzed by li- quid scintillation counter.With increasing exposed time the uptake rate of PCP by D. magna increased drastically.After 12 h of exposure,PCP biocon- centration factors(BCF)reached peak value.The BCF of PCP of D.mag- na in apparent steady-state was 35,and bioconcentration rate constants was 0.1 48.The elimination of PCP from D.magna to water followed second-or- der reaction kinetics.It was found that a linear relationship exists between the reciprocal of the PCP residue in D.magnat release time and depuration time itself.The half-life and the rate constant(K_Ⅱ)were 5.9h and 0.157 for 2o℃,10.6h and 0.112 for 14℃,respectively.
