According to the practical experience and principels of which draft 1∶50,000 land-use maps .the author,combined with the present situation of land-use investigation in Jiangsu Province.puts forward some problems existed in compilation of 1∶50, 000 land─use map such as the fundamental data of compilation,mathematic base and matching method of compilation,selection of drafting patterns as well as operational method and requirments for the draftsmen. Some drafting methods suitable for new 1∶50,000 land─use maps have been discussed. At present,because the land-use investigation has been developed to a summary step in regions or cities and the compilation of 1∶50, 000 land─use maps are carring out at large scale, summarzing drafting experince in time is very important for the practical drafting and operation without drafting standards and detail operational methods.
