The Displacement Fault of Overlap-slump Fault in Jiulishan Coalfield and its Sig-nificance

徐州市地处苏鲁豫皖交界处,五省通衢,地理经济战略地位十分重要,有丰富的煤炭资源。徐州矿务局为我国十四个年产超过一千万吨的煤炭基地之一。

Abstract: Xuzhou area, located in the northwest of Jiangsu province, has large amount of coal reserves. Now,Xuzhou faces a serious problem. The existing coal reserves (mines) are nearly mined up. The urgent task is to find some new coal mine as the replacement. But the question is that the exploration degree in Xuzhou is very high and it is very difficult to have new important discovery. The author has a lot of experiences in the investigation and exploration in Xuzhou area. And the author notices that there are quite a few overlap-slump fault. The paper analyses the activity and origin of the above mentioned structures and considers that the overthrust fault cut the original coal layer into sheets and overthrust movement made the sheets separated. So that the author thinks the fault movement is very important to the coal exploration.
