蔓荆是一种良好的固沙植物，其果实的药用范围较广，民间有“云南天麻”之称。通过对蔓荆籽氨基酸、微量元素、维生素、粗脂肪与脂肪酸含量进行测定，发现共有１８种氨基酸，其中有８种人体必需氨基酸，２０多种微量元素，维生素Ｅ达１３．８３ｍｇ／ｇ，脂肪中含大量不饱和脂肪酸，其中亚油酸达５４．５％，除略高于豆油外，是常见食用植物油１倍以上。这些结果表明，蔓荆籽营养成分丰富，有保健、防衰抗癌的功效，可作为营养医疗保健型产品开发的重要原料．

Vitex trifolia is a good plant of fixing sand,it is commonly called“Yunnan gastrodia elate”and its seed is of wide use for medicine.Pass throngh mensuration:The seed cohtains eighteen kinds of minoacids,among which the eight kindsare necessary to human body.It also contains more than 20 kinds of microelem-ents.Vitamin E reaches 13.83mg/g and a great quantity of fatty acid in the seeds.Linoleic acid is 54.5%。The result of this reseach shows that Vitex trifolia contains many nutrient.It is possessed the effects of hea1th,prevents seniledecay and resists cancer.So it will be the important raw material of health prot-ection and medical production.
