The operability of the vacuum tower before and after converting into all-sieved tower was emphatically introduced and problems analyzed. The results showed that the washing stage is the key factor influencing the operability of all-sieved lube type vacuum tower. Under the conditions of proper design and correct op-eration, the sieved tray was of high efficiency, tow pressure drop and high processing capacity.
