Due to its high aromatics content coke oven crude benzol as by-product of coking plant is a valuable feedstock for the recovery of pure benzene, toluene and xylenes. Different customer-specific demands do require tailormade solutions for processing of the feedstock. Three different process routes, containing alternative hydrotreatment sections, an extractive distillation and related distillation systems,aerdes-cribed. The specific yields, utility consumption figures etc. are compared with regard to the main products pure benzene and toluene. The comparison of these commer-ciallyproven process routes will be helpful for feasibility studies concerning processing of coke oven crude benzol.
