Effect of copper on nitrogen metabolism in wheat was studied. Theresults showed that the content of free amino acids in plant of check treatment is higherthan that of the copper application treatment, and large amounts of threonine, serine,alanine, arginine , valine, aspartic acid f glutamic acid and lysine are accumulated in theleaves. Protein synthesis retardation resulting from Cu deficiency is the cause of the accumulation of amino acids.
