(EGb).Procedure includes hydrolysis of the flavonoids and subsequent quantitative chromatographic assay of the ob-tained aglycones on a C_(18) column with methanol-0.4% orthophosphoric acid (55:45) as eluent. The detec-tion was effected at 360nm, A good linear relationship of standard(quercetin)was found in the range of 0.001 and 0.2μg. The coefficients of variation of standard and sample(EGb) were 2.2%and 3.1%, respec-tively, Four batches of EGb were tested by the mentioned method. The total content of ginkgo flavone glyco-sides was 23.4%(W/W).
