Since there are two bigger cascaded reserviors Long Yangxia and LiuJiaxia, the loadregulation capaLiity is improved,the principal measure of peak load regulation in Northwest electric power system is to develop hydroplants on the upper reaches of Yellow River. This papergives a general analysis for the present state of the fundamental load flow and the problems ofpeaking regulation in Northwest electric power system,particularly for the problems in Shaansipower network.It forecasts the situation of peaking regulation in the initial stage of the next century,and gives some relative suggestions.
