Abstract In socialist market economy, both spiritual civiliztion and material civilization should be given enough attention to and both of them should be developed epually. Enterprise's spirit is an important part of spiritual civiliztion and it is the core of enterprise culture, so market economy needs it. Enterprise's spirit affects the development of enterprise's productivity. It is the spiritual force to unite workers. It can strenthen workers' master position in enterprises, standardize workers' actions and have a controlling function for public opinion. Cultivating and developing socialist enterprise's spirit can make enterprises full of vitality and canmake enterprises' economy prosperous
