This article presents the classification and characteristics of polymer membranes and inorganic membranes concerned with the catalytic functional membranes and membrane reactions. It describes the reaction principle and preparing methods of the catalytic functional membranes as well as the application of enzyme-imrnobilizing membranes and polymer membranes in biochemical and petrochemical industry. Besides.it demonstrates the performance and features of membrane separation technology with the dehydrogenation of cyclohexane taken as an example. It also briefs the prospect of membrane reaction and membrane reactor technology.
