AbstractThe expanded skin of the postauricular area is thin,pliable well vascularized andnonhearbearing. We used this skin combined with costal cartilage framewark for thereconstruction of the auricle in 20 patients in which. Satiofactory results were obtained.Theprovedure of the operation the provention and the treat ment of the complications are des-cribed in dectail in this paper. We also invented a device for pressing and pinching thereconstructed auricle. It has been evidented that this device is effective in preventing the skinfrom the contraction and improving the shape of the new auricle.
