摘要 本文列举了国外利用杨树作为工业用材和采取定向培育所取得的成功经验。讨论了我国杨树人工林发展的现状及存在的问题,为杨树人工林朝着具有“定向、速生、丰产、优质、稳定、高效”等目标发展提供了参考性建议。 Abstract The direction of culture of high yield fast srowing stands of poplars no lonserplaces emphasis on 'fast growth' and 'hish yield 'only,but on six aspect : 'fixed direc-tion, fast growth, high peld, high quality, stability and hish benefit' . Consequently theforest no longer bears the overload of wood production. It must sive full play to the e-cologic and protective functions and many other functions. In foreisn countries such asIndia and ltaly success has been achieved in directive culture of industrial timber standsof poplars. The main objectives of directive culture in these countries are to producewood for pulping, for making fiber board,particle board and to produce chips of fire-wood. From south to north China there are many areas suitable for the growth of poplarclones. In view of the two indices 'fast growth and hish yield'only, the poplar planta-tions in China are not inferior to those in other countries, but to reach the six indiceslisted above much work remains to be done. The directive culture of poplar plantations inChina is focused on three main aspects : (1) production of plywood, (2) production of par-ticle board, pulp and chips of firewood, (3) production of sawtimber and wood for makinscontainers. On the basis of tree breedins and the specification for wood processing andutilization, advanced teehnique and complete set of techniques should be adopted in theelite breedins, planting design, stand improvement and management and the time offellins. Only in this way can the forest produce as much wood as possible in the shortesttime required.
