On Tong“通”and Tong“同

“通”“同”是字典辞书及文言文注释中常用的两个术语。在教材和工具书中,它们的使用分工往往不够统一。文章通过对两个术语使用情况的对比分析,尤其是以王力《古代汉语》为依据,整理出“通”“同”及其他相关术语的使用分工办法,试图为古汉语教学及工具书的使用和编纂提供一定的参考。

Tong“通”and Tong“同”are often given much attention in dictionaries and explanatory notes for classical Chinese texts, yet as to their distinctive usages there still exist some confusion and controversies in different literature. This article has made a comparative analysis of the usages of the two characters, especially in accordance with Wang Li's Ancient Chinese Language and hence worked out practical criteria for the differentiation of the two characters and the like, so that it can be of some help to the teaching of ancient Chinese language and the compiling and use of Chinese language dictionaries.
