Analysis the Impact of Enlargement of Sand Dredgers Power on Sand Excavation management in the Yangtze River Courses

长江中下游干流河道曾因乱采滥挖江砂给长江的河势稳定、防洪和通航安全造成了严重危害。采砂船无论是在船只功率还是在船只数量上已经远远超过了有关要求和实际需求,超大功率的采砂船建造无疑给长江河道采砂管理工作造成巨大压力。在长江河道采砂管理上,水行政主管部门要在管理工作中严格把关,地方政府对采砂船只积极做好引导工作,使长江采砂管理走上依法、科学、有序的轨道。

Illegal and random sand excavation in main river courses of middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River caused serious threat to the stability of river conditions, flood control and safety of navigation. The size of power and number of sand dredgers have been exceeded the demand or actual needs, which places a great pressure on sand excavation management in the Yangtze River. Water administrative department is required to take further actions for a strict control of sand excavation. The local governments should actively guide those owners of sand dredgers and regulate sand excavation activities in accordance with legal provisions.
